Last night I caved in and ordered me a 6-pack of Baggu bags. It was pricey, but worth it. In case you have no idea what I am talking about, let me enlighten you. Baggu bags are grocery bag replacements that are made of rip-stop nylon, are washable, very light, and hold up to 25lbs. They fold into a flat 5 by 5 inch pouch that can easily be stored in the black void inside my purse. They have nice long handles, so I can carry them over my shoulder. (Wow, that sounded like an advertisement. I think I deserve a discount on my purchase now).
I first discovered these on Amazon, and have been wanting them ever since. I just could not settle for a single color (they come in lots of vibrant shades). Then I found out that on the Baggu website you can order a 6-pack in different colors - your choice. Since I tend to be one of those people whose favorite color is "rainbow", this was perfect. I just wished I could have had a red one, too, but that wasn't one of the options available.
I am anxiously awaiting my loot, and will post a picture of them as soon as they arrive. Now I just have to train the folks at my local grocery store to put my groceries into them. Last time I provided them a canvas bag, they seemed confused and put my groceries inside a plastic bag, and then put that inside the canvas bag. I don't think they got what I was trying to do. They just thought I was looney. I can't wait to see their faces when I present them with 6 colorful bags and demand they put my groceries in it. Next time I'll just have to stop them before they shake open the plastic bags. Last time, I was just confused and went home with my groceries inside a plastic bag inside a canvas bag.
And then I can use them at the farmer's market, too. Oh, how I miss the farmer's market. This winter has been too long. Can't wait for spring...
I am quite excited about attending the 3rd annual Natural Living Expo this Saturday. I've never been to one before, so I am not quite sure what to expect. But I am expecting great things.
